There are only 3 driver dates for the Nvidia card I have. The original works fine, the latest works fine, the middle one won't install so is not an issue. All of the video functions are OK in both driver sets.
In re: Direct X accelleration--it is disabled per MTU suggestions.
I have a sneaking suspicion that the sound issue rests in the WMP, since that is what is being used for the audio. I think I will try to uninstall WMP 11 with all of its service changes and go back to WMP 10 to see if it will work.
