There are several things you need to do.
1. Find the DVD drive in Hoster by going to Tools/CD-DVD drives. Look up the Make and Model of your drive.
2. Go to Sony website Software and Drivers and see if there are any updates for the drive and others for the laptop that you may need.
3. Download and install any you have found that you need.
4. Go to manufacturer's website for the drive you have and under their Support should be any firmware updates they have for that model.
After installing all of these, test the drive again and see if it works.
Whether the drive works or not you also need to go to Microsoft's Update page and click on Custom updates (when it finishes reading your computer). Do all Custom Updates except those listed as Hardware updates.

Also just an FYI: Posting problems as a visitor message to yourself does no good because nobody but you sees it. Create a thread for it as you did here. If you search the forums you should find what that error is and what you have to do to fix them.
