Hey Rob,
The only feature that 4.06 has that 4.08 doesn't have is the ability to see the video in the preview screen when you use the "New Player". The "New Player" was removed because it was causing problems for a percentage of the users. I don't run video's in my show so this feature is not missed by me but some users have posted that they would miss it.
There is and issue in 4.06 where the Singer Database refreshes too much, This plus a list of other issues were fixed in 4.07 which led to 4.08.
Both 4.08 & 4.06 run rock solid for me so I feel confident recommending either one. Like Roy said, the upgrade is free. You can always go back to 4.06.
(Be sure you keep a copy of the 4.06 install program.)
