1. Yes it should Cancel. This could be a bug, but I have never tried to stop it.
2. If your drive(s) are correctly attached and the right letter, then the only one left is Read Only and in this case you don't have to know which file it is. Go to the folder they are in Select all, right click on the group and go to properties. Click on Read Only at the bottom to clear the box and click OK.
3. Same as above. No I don't mean just Audio files. And no you will not have to re-rip any files. Just make sure none are set to read only. This is an option you can change on any file.
4. & 5. OK. I can't argue this one now that I understand what you are talking about. I have also run into this problem with selecting a group and having it change the Genre. All of mine are listed as English so I don't have that problem. I'll bring this one up to MTU.
