All of that said, I went to download the 3.x version to change the speed, and I saw on the download area that some people "found that 4.03 works better." I installed that, and voilą. No more delay at all. Hopefully 4.1 will fix whatever was changed after 4.03. For now, everything is peachy.
I appreciate your help, and I hope that MTU sees this and figures out what they changed and why it shouldn't have been changed.
