No, not really. I have used every 4.xx version of Hoster on both XP and Vista. Hoster has a lot of added features that run in the background. The 3.4 version does not use near the resources of 4.xx. Because of that, you need to make some tweaks to your system, especially in the video department, to make it run smoothly. MTU is trying to fight with Microsoft, when it comes to control of your computer hardware, to keep the words in sync. We all had problems in the beginning, especially in Vista, keeping the words in sync. Those problems have been identified and fixed with a combination of Hoster code and Vista tweaks. This is why it is very important to follow all the instructions to the letter in Vista.
I have found that with enough horse power (dual 256mb video cards, super fast processor, and 3gb ram) I was able to run Vista without the tweaks as long as ABSOLUTELY NOTHING was running in the background. I believe it is a memory management problem with Vista and can not be "fixed" by MTU.
Microsoft has decided that we can not be trusted to run our own systems and they needed to step in. This is how we got Vista. Every idiot who openes attachments in email has to be protected. I think they should just come out with a version for my grandmother and leave the rest of us alone
