There are two ways to get quotes like we use. Simplest way is to click the Quote button in lower right corner of a post.
The second is to highlight the text you want to quote, copy it and paste it into a new reply. Then highlight it again and click the last icon on second row up top on the reply box. This puts the highlighted text in a quote box but does not identify the source.
