now to the meat of my question is this a better way to go or would i be better off just trying to get better sound from the voco pro mixer/amp or would there be a better mixer for this purpose or should i also buy a seperate amp to run this mixer setup i'm on limited income due to accident at home that broke my ankle in 2 places will be out of work doc says for another 5 months min.any advice would be a help also want to record my 11 year old daughter for our own self she has won several karaoke contest recorded at big mama recording studio 2 cd's the recording would be to help her and not for sale as want to be legal any advice on recording/editing software for this purpose would be a help like cakewalk sony acid music thanks raymond

before buying those recording or editing software and usb mixer make sure you dont have a vista media center edition, they wont work due to hardware compatibility, i'll stay away with behringer if i were you,(you couldn't pay me enough to use one), i am partial to mackie products, dfx6 or cfx 12 mixing boards ($99- & 299) it has all the efx you need for recording and you'll have a better sound quality, and of course it depends on your speakers too, i use srm 450 active speakers myself..and also if you do a recording you might wanna get yourself a studio monitors, i use krk products ( cost a bit though ( $249 ea. i have 4 of them plus a 10" sub all active ) so i know it cost a lot, but you'll have a better sound quality and these stuff will last , have mine for over 6 yrs. now and havent replaced any of them yet..
