Did you let the Check run and did it show any errors like bad sectors?
If so I would keep an eye on it as this is usually an early indication of failure.
Second thing I would look seriously at is that if this drive is FAT32 it really needs to be updated to NTFS format. Safest way is copy the files off and reformat it in NTFS then restore the files. There is a way to do it without having to remove the files but I have not used it in a very long time and would have toresearch it if you need that.
