Please email support at mtu dot com one of the files that fails. We need it to troubleshoot this. Reference this Forum Thread
http://forum.mtu.com/newreply.php?do=newreply&p=78534 and that it is a Spanish HDZIP file that won't convert.
I agree, the extra punctuation is probably not being recognized by our unzipper program. The code we use is the most advanced available to our knowledge as we did an exhaustive search about a year ago. It may be there are some "switches" we need to enable to handle the punctuations in filenames.
I will add that if the .mp3 and .cdg files within the ZIP don't have the same name... exactly the same punctuation included... then that is the reason it is failing. There is only so much we can do with a ZIP before we turn you over the Viruses, Trojans, etc. that some hackers embed in ZIP files. If you unzip one of these, and it doesn't have exactly the same names, we're not fixing it. You'll have to batch convert them using Songverter into MP3+g files and manually rename them before importing them.
WHY CONVERT HDZIPS? We have fought with this ZIPPING problem for years. It has probably cost us over $20,000 alone... one of the most expensive "functions" we have invested in to make it work, and every year something else turns up broken!
We are about to add in Crossfading between songs, or to fade in music when a Playlist song ends so there is no dead-air silence time. The entire new Sound Manager we have been working on for close to 2 years (it is partially in Microstudio 4.006), will hiccup on ZIP files as we would have to add a VARIABLE delay (unzip a 1 minute songs takes less than unzipping a 6 min song) into this BEFORE we even have the .mp3 and .cdg files to play.
We're just not willing to invest any more in this bad technology... which was initially developed for Internet theft of CDG songs. There are many BAD sources for ZIP files, and they often have problems.
We have right at 12 error traps to catch ZIP problems and you're probably introducing a new one to us.
Please forgive my frustration, and please email us a file that fails. That's all I can do. We will try to help you and others get converted. Our "Import HD Files" screen has already been converted to only import ZIPs as HDMP3G KMA format files. Thus, we are ending the problem here, and we must convert all your files over.
