For those new to this thread: Let me reiterate a little.

Purchased new computer, MTU Hoster software at the beginning of February. Proceeded to load 925 CDGs....Saturday last, everything was loaded....had a library of 15,000 songs roughly. Set up in living room, computer, dual monitors, speakers, etc. Everything worked great. Set to do show Monday night.

Monday morning I go back on computer to check something. All of a sudden i have only 3,173 songs....Did an explorer search for .kma files. Gone. Manage to find online software to do a recover and appeared to have recovered 10,000 files that were missing.

Move all the recovered files to the correct drive ... begin searching for songs randomly and find that all PIONEER CDGs are NOT there....but everything else appears to be there. Yesterday reload all the Pioneer CDgs (quite a number of them) By the time that chore is finished, do another search and BINGO, more songs gone. This morning I do a search for .kma files, lots missing again. Rather, what seems to happen is the files are there but there is nothing in the file apparently.

In the meantime, after the apparent successful recovery, I back the drive up to a Western Digital 500GB book (brand new). I'm thinking woohoo, everything is safe....but now I am concerned that this backup will contain those empty files.

Don't mean to rag on anyone here but after spending a substantial amount of money on what I consider to be the best program for computer hosting, the new computer, and the HUNDREDS of hours (most of you can relate, who have ripped CDGs), I'm at my wit's end.

Again: New computer (clean 500-GB drives), NOT AN UPDATE OF HOSTER but the NEW RELEASE from the end of January....COMPUTER IS NOT ON LINE AT ALL. No power failures. Can't think of anything else I might have done so can only assume it is software.

I have a laptop with Hoster Lite on it but am afraid to try and run the backed up copy on the WD "book" in case the files are corrupt or something weird...or will just find that everything I thought was good is empty.

ARGGGGGG.....Sorry, don't mean to offend. Not my nature, really. Just now swinging at the end of my rope.

K
