The "not responding" appears on the header of the Microstudio program window. It comes and goes. Sometimes in the "tray" it says "not responding, but the program on screen is working, performing the functions??

Yes, with a Verizon internet access card.
What brand/model of burner are you using?
A Plextor PX-760A purchased from MTU.
I spent a half hour compiling Audio songs for a practice disc, only to have Microstudio shut down and lose everything.. Three times. VERY frustrating. I finally gave up and just used my Yahoo Musicbox.
