Start the Hoster Setup program (the one you downloaded from MTU) for 3.316, then select
Remove instead of
Update. It will remove the program without removing your KMA files, playlists, database, etc. Then run the Setup program again and install. That is all there is to it.
As far as the drive if you go to the following web page -

and select the CD/DVD category, you will find a firmware update for your drive.
There are other updates on this page that you should look at too for that laptop.
