The problem with the first 3.318 was strictly involved with our security in the code, and the web script it talks to. 3.318 was an after-thought. All the fixes were already done in Hoster 4.000 Beta X. Thus, we created a "downgraded version from 4.000. That's where the conflict came in.

If anyone knows how to disable Windows doing this auto-cleanup, please post it here! I hate their "housekeeping" my computer. Yes, I know there is a do you want to do it approval, but in all cases I have experienced, I wasn't paying attention and didn't expect their dialog and had already queued up an "Enter" key press that this dialog accepted... or something else, including pilot error on my part.

Thanks for this. I have checked my Desktop 'Clean Up' & it is definately unchecked. I am pretty sure though - on my other computer when it did clean up the old icons that it created a folder on the Desktop with them in.

I am quite sure this wasn't the problem though. This is what happened when I was trying to get 3.318 to work:

Day 1. Downloaded new 3.318 exe file to Desktop. Tried to run & it came up with the serial error. Tried several times & then gave up for the day.

Day 2. Went back to computer to try again. Exe file was gone. Thought it was pretty strange so then re downloaded it again to my desktop from Hoster. Tried to run 2-3 times I think but still the serial number error. Obviously this was still the corrupt file.

Within a few minutes of my 3rd attempt it vanished along with some of the other icons on my desktop. I tried the search button & sure enough there it was... both versions of 3.318 exe that I had downloaded from Hoster. Since it was there I didn't worry about it so left it for the time being.

Day 3. Went back in to search again so I attempt once more. I couldn't find the exe files anywhere... I then realised that two of the icons that had vanished were my Song Books that I was editing through word. These weren't shortcuts - they were the actual documents... I have been unable to locate these documents as well

I hope this makes sense. I can only assume it was because of the Hoster exe file but who knows... it definately wasn't the clean up wizard as these files were at best 1Day old.
