What version Microstudio, Hoster and operating system?
Also, what version of firmware is on your Plextor (find this in the drive listing within Microstudio or Hoster)?
Try doing a Custom update from Windows and load all items listed. Do not use the Express update or depend solely on the Auto update on your computer, because those only install what Microsoft deems as "Critical" and that is not everything. You may have to run it a couple of times to get everything to load.
The second thing to do is go to Plextor website, compare the version of firmware on your drive to the latest download available for your model. If you don't have the latest then download it and install it.

If those together don't fix the problem then you may have a bad drive.
