What's the error message Windows gives at the time it happens, those tend to be a little more informational to the laymen. You might check your event viewer as well sometimes it will give a little more info and/or provide a link to Microsoft that can sometimes steer you in the right direction.
If I had to make a totally uneducated guess it would be that some component of windows or a dll is corupt.
