I just went through the audio control panels. I couldn't find the .wav and other ext that was mentioned in the other reply. I have vista so I am in a learning mode with it.

once you get to control panel click on sound and audio..on the device volume, make sure the mute boxes are not checked..unchecked if it is...then click on advanced..unchecked any mute box and also you'll find .wav and also make sure all volumes are set all the way up.
