So, to sum up and to make it clear to those who do not understand, I will analyze your COMPLETE statement in order to provide the correct conclusion in one POST:

When you state "while importing a song during a show," at least, I understand that you mean that, you are adding a Trk, to the Playlist, via the CDG TAB...which IS NOT the same as IMPORTING a Trk from a Singer's Disc, as some in forum may infer and jump down your throat to say that that was illegal...duh. It should be common sense that you can't "Import" while running a show (operative words meaning, "WHILE RUNNING A SHOW").

Then, when you state, "After inserting the disk...I hit the import," at least, I understand that you meant to say that you clicked the ADD TRACK Button. By knowing this, it will prevent endless back and forth dialog that would make this thread longer than necessary to "Clarify" what you meant to say.

And, when you state, "...behind the black screen.," at least, I understand that you meant to say the SINGER'S NAME DISPLAY.

Now, the problem:
During the write KMA phase, which is the final PHASE of adding a TRK via the CDG TAB, the "BLACK" Screen, which is the SINGER'S NAME DISPLAY, takes F O C U S, or, JUMPS, if you will, IN FRONT OF a PLAYING SONG'S GRAPHICS, which, in REAL TIME MODE, is displaying on the SINGER'S Monitor as a SINGER IS SINGING, which results in the SINGER NOT BEING ABLE TO SEE THE WORDS OF THE SONG.

This sounds pretty bad! Huh, in Karaoke, isn't the Singer supposed to be able to see the WORDS as they are Singing? Oh well.

The HOSTER FIX:
None

The "WORK-AROUND" for YOUR COMPUTER'S "problem":
Turn OFF the SINGER'S NAME DISPLAY (SND) B E F O R E you start to add a TRK VIA the CDG TAB.

To TURN OFF the SND, DOUBLE CLICK the SND Button. When the SND Button is OFF, it should be RED.

I have experienced this problem for years.
