Has anyone ever had this problem on a retail version of Vista or is it only on the preinstalled systems? There has been no change to the OPK since Windows Vistas initial release so I question whether this is actually a Microsoft thing or something that the wysiwyg companies are putting in. Has anyone tried a clean boot prior to the installation attempt? Here is the KB for doing a clean boot in Vista:
