XP may not have as many restrictions or different restrictions.
Check the file properties (right click then properties). Make sure it isn't read only and that the user you are logged in with has full security permissions.
Have you tried setting the location of the songs.mdb file to the default location (Hoster\databases) and then rebuild from KMA files on F
See if you get the same results of 0 files.
What I think is happening is that the search part of the build/rebuild database function is working since it tells you there are 35,xxx files and it counts down from there. The problem is something is preventing the information from being written to the songs.mdb file.
