CAVS made a VERY BAD mistake by letting their SCDG creation software tools into the public domain. I am sure they did it as they alone have a PLAYER for this double-sided DVD disc.
It has made the Karaoke Producers and the Lyrics Publishers VERY MAD, and is probably a major contributor to the legal actions that Sound Choice and Stellar Records are now taking against ILLEGAL use of Karaoke songs, which does NOT include anyone who has legally purchased Karaoke CDG discs from licensed producers.
MTU does not know all the details about the legality of the SCDG format.
However, again, it is clear to me that any method where songs are distributed for less than the range of $0.70 PER SONG in quantity is ILLEGAL until proven legal.
Thus, MTU considers SCDG discs an ILLEGAL DISTRIBUTION method that we will not support.
