Make sure that you have the DMA turned on, which I think under XP requires installing updated drivers for the Motherboard Chipset.

I would try to update your ASPI drivers first, you can do that from: http://www.mtu.com/vbulletin/showthr...p?threadid=493

Or make sure that your speed is changed under the Drives Menu, Speed Selection. I recommend setting this to AUTO for Read and Write, which will go as fast as the drive will allow it.
