The list doesn't update until after each song completes. The question is why are you stopping the song and then "skipping" it? If you are trying to keep your listings there is another way. (Sam help me out here as I don't have Hoster or the manual here. What is the setting to retain the playlist?)

The SND button doesn't do the job in this case! In fact, the SND button causes the screen to revert to the "wrong display"
after I do my workaround.
I skip songs do end them to cut out the long endings, place them in skip mode so as to let me see that the only ones in the list that say "ready" are those that have
not been played yet. All others above will say "as played" or "skip"; all those in line to be played will say "Ready". It is easy to visualize that way so I have established that as my convention.
I do not see why this is considered normal, either, I mean the singers name display reverts to the first four singers in the entire set that may have occurred 3 hours back and are indicated as "played" and should not occur again in the SND display. It would be nice to have the next four "unplayed" singers appear regardless of the situation I would think.
