While you're adding graphics to a song, the music is in .WAv format and remains in .Wav format until you are satisfied with your production, at which point if you wish to save it as a CDG you click on "write CD+G", which it essentially does. It writes a new file to the hard drive (saves it) as a CDG. You will now have three files; the lyrics (in your word processor), the original music still as .WAV (in your .Wav songlist), and your production as .CDG(in the .CDG songlist).
