Here's what we did.
COLORS: We needed to leave 6 colors free when there is a graphic image. These are for background, border and singer text and sweep colors. Now, DO NOT ask any further about duet. It will appear when we implement it. Asking for it won't make it happen any faster.
Also, we knew that the average Karaoke user won't have a graphics editing program and understand how to reduce the colors. Now you must learn how to do this for now.
We should have used
graphic color dithering to reduce the colors, which would preserve the overall image colors. If any of you know where we can get graphic color dithering algorithms, please let us know. Once we find and code one in, there will be a new release for free.
Yes, I'm feeling gulity about this limitation.
If you edit your images down to 10 colors in 4-bit (16 color) mode, our algorithm should not change them, but I have not confirmed that with our programmer yet.
ASPECT RATIO: The images automatically scale to fit the CDG resolution requirements IF... they are too large. This is mentioned in the manual, and it is not controllable. If you make your images the correct size, you know what it will look like in the Title and Credits Pages.
