Both the power cord and laptop are brand new...I tried it in another outlet in the house ...same result. I am going to a friends house tonight and try it there...he also uses a laptop (different brand) and experiences no noise. To add I don't get the problem with my desktop...(different outlet, same ckt) I'll let all of you know later how I made out at my friends house.
