We are close to releasing 3.310, but HP drives are still giving us headaches with bad graphics. We may wait a few more days, but otherwise so far it looks good to go. Beta 9 was available for testing around 9PM last night, so we still need to hear from about half our beta testers.
On your problem, we added a Disc Speed control into the Import CD Tracks screen. It reads the drive's speeds so you can select a slower one. At slower speeds, warped media import fewer "snowflakes" in the graphics. We have seen remarkeable improvements with Chartbutster original discs. Thus, I think 3.310 will help you.
Right now you can use Microstudio at a slower speed to import BIN files. Then, take them to Hoster and import to KMAs in the Import Hard Drive Files screen. The error detection/correction code we now use is software based, versus hardware that older CDG capable drives used, and sometimes it is not as good. If the drive has hardware error correction, 3.310 automatically detects and uses it for the best possible import.
The advantage is that MANY more drives are now useable for CDG work. The problem is today only Plextor drives use hardware decode, which forced us to go to the software decode/correction code.
I was wondering if you remember what CDR media manufacturer you used with your backups made years ago? It would be interesting to know.
