Other than the suggestions you already have. You might try, from the desktop, (Properties/Settings/Advanced/ Color Management/and check the mode.
Posibilities: The card software needs to be installed again, or The card is not the one needed for this application. It ought to be at least Mobility Radeon 9000 or better, and I think manufactured by ATI.
Maybe MTU might step in here.
