Well, bit the bullet today and had an Audigy Card installed. The problem DOES also extend to Windows 98SE
, so I had that puppy taken out and am back to normal. My computer guy seems to think the problem is being caused by Audigy "invading" some memory space utilized by Microstudio play, for whatever that's worth. Kept getting OSD error messages.
At least now we know it's not just Windows XP.
