This problem is something in the Computer itself that is causing the problem. It almost sounds like you might have a hardare failure of some type, which could also be the Plextor drive that you are using. You might want to try using the Plextor drive with some other software and see if it gives problems.
If you had a bad CD or download, the software would not install or work at all. So this would not be the problem, the problem is the System.
Have you done the updates as Beavis has stated?
