All I know guys is that my laptop from MTU (2002 ?)came with a DVD drive. And of course it would not play CDG's. I then called MTU and ordered a Plextor drive to go in it's place. I had no trouble putting it in. And I can asure you I'm no "Techy"
I would suggest contacting MTU and even ask them to check my records so they know what model and type they sent me. The laptop by the way is a Prostar.
