Is your ASPI Layer Installed? Simply installing Hoster will NOT Install the ASPI Layer.

If not, or you don't know where to look, download this file:

aspi_471a2.exe

from:

http://www.adaptec.com/worldwide/sup...s+ASPI+Package

Then, double click this file:

aspi_471a2.exe

and Click OK to expand (unzip) the files to the Adaptec\ASPI Folder.

Then, OPEN the Adaptec Folder and then, OPEN the ASPI Folder and Click on this file:

aspichk.exe

You should see FOUR (4) files Installed and you should see ASPI is Fully Installed and Operational grayed-out at the Bottom-Left.

If nothing is Installed or ALL FOUR (4) files are NOT Installed, then, close the ASPI Verification Window and Click on this file:

aspiinst.exe

to perform an Install of the ASPI Layer.

Reboot

After Re-Booting, Double-Click the:

aspichk.exe

again, to ensure that the ASPI Layer is correctly and FULLY INSTALLED.

If the ASPI Layer is Installed correctly, open Hoster and click on the TOOLS Button. In the Drop Down Box, Click on DETECT DRIVES and Click OK to the Drive that is Listed.

Click on the TOOLS Button, again, and, in the Drop Down Box, Click on CD/DVD Drive Defaults and Click OK to the CD/DVD Drive that is Listed. If none is Listed, Click the Drop Down Arrow and Select One. The, Click OK.

If you still have problems, select 16X Speed instead of AUTO SELECT SPEED.
