Plextor CDR drives are able to read/write the CDG format.

Microstudio 2.315 is quite ancient and I don't remember what drives it supported. If the drive was released after March 10, 2002, then the 2.315 version would NOT have had the required drivers to interface to the drive.

I've never heard that Pioneer drives do the CDG format.

We are working on Microstudio 3.000 which will be able to use almost any CDROM, CDR, DVDROM, DVDR drive for CDG discs. If you're not in a hurry, it may be worth waiting. We expect to release it in July.
