It will probably make use of software you already have (like WinDVD Creator or something similar), but yes, you would need to purchase a device to capture the audio and video output of your karaoke player. I used an external USB device which utilized the WinDVD Creator software. It was a simple process, but time-consuming since you have to actually sit there while it plays each song (it does the capture in real-time).
