Well, I still wouldn't rule out a bad Plextor.
What version of Hoster are you running?
If it is v3.006, do a search on your Hard Drive for hoster3006setup.exe
If it is on your Hard Drive, you will be able to click this file and do an UPGRADE without being connected to the Internet.
If you go through a complete Uninstall and Re-install, you will need to be connected to the Internet and, possibly, have all the Original purchase information that will include the Purchaser Name and Email.
If you don't have this File or Info, get it from your Computer supplier and tell them. I would have a copy of the EXE file on your Hard Drive at all times.
If it is not a bad Plextor, then, it will be essential to re-install the Hoster program in order to eliminate the software as a problem source.
