The new software I've had to work with, Hoster ver 2.219, has given me just as much trouble as the other MTU software I've dealt with. The problem: Trying to get it to work as it should.

Customer is has copied over 20,000 time consuming songs into a laptop computer only to find disappointment and frustration rather than any piece of satisfaction. Audio dropouts are apparent in almost every one of those approximate 20,000 songs. I have visiting this MTU website and searched for a means to clear up the issue with no success. The MTU website advised to turn off various computer functions, many of which I completely advised against. Windows settings and configurations that normally should be left alone, I was told to disable. I disabled all of the reccommendations by the MTU support webpage and the audio dropouts are still present and unacceptable. Windows and all drivers have been updated as well.

This customer paid top dollar for a software program that is not functioning properly. The laptops hardware is more than capable of handling the copying process and other software such as Windows Media Player works perfectly fine which leads me to believe the problem lies in the Hoster software. A software upgrade from MTU for Hoster is all that's left to try and I advised the customer not to put any more money into upgrading the software when he already paid for the program once and its malfuntion isn't his fault. He, as well as everyone else who experiences this problem, should NOT have to pay to upgrade a program that simply will not work.

ADMIN NOTE: Do you see any other complaints in this forum dated in the past months about audio-dropouts? No. So the problem is your computer and your refusing to follow our instructions. We are EXPERT on Karaoke demands placed on the computer. They are FAR in excess of the meager demands Windows Media Player places on the computer... but your business is not Karaoke so I wouldn't expect you to know that.

Any suggestions?

I am sorry you continue to have such a negative attitude about MTU and our products. After the negative posts you made against KPro in 2003, I'm truly surprised that "your client" came back and bought another MTU product.

It sounds to me like you need to stop working with this customer. There is some "pressure" you are under that you are passing on as negatives and insults in our Forums. I would have thought from your 2003 posts that you would have learned there are many users here willing to help with advice if you are willing to receive it, and quit your insults.

Next time you come to our Forums, come with an attitude of gratitude, not disdane and insult. It will get you much farther in receiving help... and in life in general.

As to our phone... FYI not one competitor even has a phone number on their web site. They don't have a Forum, and their customers come to MTU for help. If you read our Support page, you will see there are three means listed to receive support, and phone is NOT one of them. Furthermore, contrary to your post, we state VERY CLEARLY that we DO NOT return support calls. Phone support is available for FREE... on an as available basis.

If I had the answer to solve your problem, I would willingly post it here. However, it is not a software issue. It is a computer issue. Someone is going to have to take their time to help you resolve the issues with your computer. I STRONGLY suggest you change your attitude and just maybe, someone nice enough to care will try to help you solve your problem with your customer who has an incorrectly built computer.

Someone is going to have to guide you where to look. However, they will need you to have a positive, appreciative attitude. If you don't do EXACTLY and ACCURATELY what they instruct you to do, you won't get your problem solved.

I suggest you first spend some time in these Forums with the Search, click the Advanced link and enter the two words - Audio Dropout - to see what has been posted before to solve this problem. Your answer may already be there. When solutions are posted and there is no final post that says "Thanks... that fixed it", don't worry. It was fixed and the person didn't bother to come back and thank those who helped them... just like you didn't in 2003 when you were helped by others with KPro.

I doubt that if MTU's customer upgrades to Hoster 3.006 for $19.95 it will solve this problem. There are many feature upgrades and bug fixes from 2.219 to 3.006, but none of them directly address the audio dropout problem. That needs to be fixed first, then they should consider purchasing the upgrade.
