No, mpg is as you noted a video format. MP3+G is an mp3 music file that works in conjuntion with a lyrics file using the extension .cdg (totally different animal from the cdg's you use in your karaoke player). They are kind of like a kma except there are two files involved both of which must belocated in the same folder to work. Many programs (and now including hoster) will let you use them zipped together for convenience.
I believe video cd is on the list of features to add though I don't where know it is on that list. MPG's are a rather large files so I don't know if it will be supported, I'm thinking it might be more like a AVI which is compressed alot more.
