Re: Where to begin reloading music lost
Norm,
First of all......happy new year!! Also, thanks for the wonderfully detailed answers that you have given me. You are one great guy! I have made it through New Year's and another night of karaoke (without my Hoster). Tomorrow and Sunday I'll be focusing on figuring out the databases and getting something to compare...then begin the process loading my missing music.
Wow, that find and replace stuff looks complicated. I hope I can manage. I did have a bright idea today and wondered what you thought. I thought that if I opened the songs.mdb file in Windows Explorer and could somehow print the list there, I would have the list of discs by manurfacturer and could then compare to the file in Access. If this is somehow possible, I could sort the Access file by Manufacturer also (not sure if this is possibel). Anyway, it was a thought and my main problem is if you open a folder with Windows Explorer, is there some way to print the list of files. I figure there surely is. I haven't managed to find out how to do this yet. Any ideas? I'm trying to figure out a way to avoid adding those zeros to the Book Ids in Access....lol. If this makes no sense, it's because I been running karaoke all night and celebrating the new year. Any thoughts? Norm, I know you seem to be night owl like myself. Ruth (Nitecat)
