Re: Hard Drive Directory of MP3+ CDG
Part of the problem is that MP3+G files are named in various ways. Also, the Song Parameters we provide you in Hoster's KMA file header (song and artist names, language, genre, duet, multiplex) are not available in MP3+G songs, or are in random order that we can't automatically know where to find them. In essence, you will have to do a LOT of manual identification of MP3+G songs before we can put them into any type of database that you can search.
We are looking for your input as to how your MP3+G files are currently named, what "fields" of data are present, where they are found (filename and/or ID3 header and its format), and what delimiter is used between the "fields" of data. If there is no consistent "field" pattern, there is nothing we can do to automate indexing of multiple fields of data without your manually doing it.
To our knowledge, there was no standard way to identify MP3+G files, as this evolved out of the "crack" sites for illegal distribution of CDG songs. Thus, no standard was evolved.
We are considering creating an index of identified drives/folders for MP3 and MP3+G songs. That may be the only thing we can do without you spending LARGE amounts of time to clean up your existing MP3+G files so they can be logged into a database like Hoster's Songs Database.
