Pop Up: Hoster Application Has Encountered A Problem And Needs to Close
2.219 has caused me problems. It has been working fine, but for no reason, as nothing has changed, I now get a popup when I try to enter a song in the playlist while using the "limited" account that my employees use.
The pop up says what is in the title of this thread. Nothing will stop this from coming up everytime,and Hoster closes. If I switch to the administrator account, Hoster works fine.
I have been having my employee's use the limited account for at least 6 months with no problems. I have them use that account to protect myself from them copying my song file.
I even restored to an earlier time before I installed Directx 9.0. That did not help. So I finally restored to the time before I installed 2.219, and went back to the previous version. Everything is fine now and I won't upgrade again, until maybe I'll try version 3, but I'll wait for a while, in case there are bugs.
I do have the SP 2 installed, and that gave me no problems. I also have nothing else on my laptop except Hoster, and use it for nothing else.
Any idea what could cause the limited account to cause Hoster to shut down all for a sudden, when just the day before it was working fine?
I do know, that after I put Directx 9.0 on my home computer, which does not have Hoster installed, I got the same pop up on my discJuggler software, but it only happened once, and after I restarted the computer, it never happened again. I suspect direct x might have something to do with my problem, but restoring to before I installed it, did not help.
Too bad, as I like the features of 2.219. Hope I can go directly to 3 and skip 2.219 when I decide to do it.
I know that most have no problems with 2.219, but probably most do not have a limited account for employees to use like I do. I need that, as it is far too easy for someone to attach a external harddrive and download all the songs, if they are using an administrater account.
Of course, to be fair, 2.219 might not be the problem, but until I installed it I never has a problem of any kind for over a year.
