Yeah I had a feeling that this ATI card may not do the trick. Do you think its possible to get a video card upgrade from the manufacture or bust buy or circuit city? I do plan to buy the MTU certified DVD USB drive and plug it into one of my laptop USB ports, but my main concern is the video card in my laptop.

TO my humble knowledge, a Laptop's video system is built on the motherboard. So... I seriously doubt you can replace anything there.
