Version 3.100 is rather old... released June 26, 2002.
Version 4.008 and the latest 4.103 are far superior, and allow adjusting your lyrics sync after placement.

KHP doesn't interface to CDR drives at all. It only uses files on the hard drive. Thus your statment about it not reading your Plextor 48x doesn't make sense. It appears you are confusing Microstudio (which does use CDR drives) with KHP.
