Here are some of the colour schemes I use most often. I always have the background and the border the same colour, otherwise it looks stupid...
(BG) = Background
(TXT) = Text
(SWP) = Sweep
1 - (BG) Black (TXT) Yellow (SWP) Bright Pink
2 - (BG) Bright Blue (TXT) White (SWP) Bright Pink
3 - (BG) Light Blue (TXT) White with Black Border (SWP) Orange
4 - (BG) Black (TXT) Really Light Blue (SWP) Purple
Or if you need some more ideas, just look at all the karaoke discs already in the market. Sound Choice is always changing the colour schemes on the tracks, so you only need one Sound Choice disc to get a lot of ideas.
I'd recommend you avoid white sweeping into yellow, because it's barely noticeable. Take Music Maestro discs for example.
