Hope this saves someone else some head scratching. I used up almost all,of my 30 minute editing time limit in the above post. The smiley face
kept popping up right in the midle of my text, and I hadn't asked for a smiley face.
I was trying to put a thought in parenthesis and it ended with the designation
C:in a ). No matter what I did I could not get rid of that smiley face until I realized the symbol for it probably was a : followed by a ).
Moral of the story, don't use any drive designation at the end of a phrase in parenthesis, or you'll get
.....laughing now, wasn't then.
