I tried both your (gdun) and MTU's suggestions and at first I was hopeful that it had solved my problem but then the popping began about the third screen into the song. It seems to be beter after the control panel changes and driver updates, but certainly not gone. Any ideas of what to try next? I've been through all the manual suggestions. Should I work through them all again step buy step? By the way, the fixes you prescribe work perfectly on my sony laptop, which also had the same proble, but not on my desktop. The sony has double the ram, (1 gig) is this worth considering?
