one other thought, while running hoster, press Ctrl-Alt-Delete keys to bring up task manager and watch the processes while hoster is running, and the mouse is doing its thing. See where the processor time is being used. Hoster normally only uses 0-2% of the processor time. That will tell you what is stealing your processor time.
