Hello fynotfi,
Most Plextor drives are recognized by MTU products.
I have a 40/12/40A, 24/10/40A and a 48/24/48A. all work excellently with MTU programmes.
They are sold in the UK, by various firms try www.ebuyer.co.uk it is a good one to check out, and reasonably cheap.
But if you want one cheaper check out the auction site, www.ebay.co.uk.
Check the MTU site to make sure that the drives are recognized first before you buy.
I have noticed that as MTU upgrade their products some of the older drives are being left out of their list of supported drives.
this also goes for some older operating systems not being able to run the latest programmes such as Hoster.
MTU, of course, only guarantee the ones they test themselves.
But stick to Plextor, I haven't bought one that didn't work.
Regards,
Garry
