Another thing to be aware of - if the S-video connector isn't connected at the time the computer boots up, it won't recognize the 2nd display. I've been bitten by that a few times at shows. I use a dual switch to switch my video between the computer and a laserdisk player I use, and if the switch isn't set to the computer, even if all the cables are hooked up, it still doesn't "detect" the 2nd video - it's got to "see" the TV on the other end when it boots, or it's not aware of it.
