What you are reporting is a system related problem, not inherent in Microstudio.
1. You should do all your Windows Upgrades to insure you have all their changes.
2. Also, I would suggest you upgrade to DirectX 9.0b, which is the latest.
3. Also, make sure your video and audio drivers are updated. It is best to get drivers from the manufacturer's web site, not use the Windows "standard" drivers, which often are not very good.
