You forgot the details to allow us to help you diagnose the problem.
FYI: The NEC won't work for CDG or with Microstudio. Windows 2000 is preferable to Windows ME. The ideal would be to put your HP 8100 on your Windows 2000 system.
Just a point, the HP8100 "should" do CDG, but may not. We use to sell these and we often rejected 3 out of 5 for not accurately reproducing a CDG disc.
